DB Dance Co welcomes 12 talented dancers to their newest branch- DB Performance Dance. Head Coach Jill Riley makes advanced dance class as a prerequisite, and selects them from a rigorous and intensive audition process. These dancers will be performing alongside DB Dance Co at select competitions and performances. 

As their head coach Riley states, ¨I hoped to give more opportunities to these talented dancers and give them the option of furthering their dance careers if they wish to continue.¨

DBHS ended its 2024 season with many top placements in the Small All Male, Small Jazz, as well as Large Contemporary, Medium Hip Hop, and Medium Contemporary as well. Now, with the inclusion of the new and upcoming dancers, they hope to not only compete with them, but to assist them.

 Coach Riley states,  ¨I hope they grow as dancers and performers and feel confident in their dancing abilities as well as their versatility. ¨

Those who auditioned for the prestigious Dance Co were also considered for the Performance Dance team, the latter acting as a way for dancers to gain more experience before they move on to Dance Co and is an opportunity for them to learn the different styles of dance and what they may want to go through.

  Coach Riley states, ¨We wanted to give more opportunities who wanted to take the next step but perhaps were not as ready for DB Dance Co just yet and felt that this was a good medium to give dancers a chance to learn from DB Dance Co and what it would be like in it.¨

Their next performance with DB Dance Co will be at Homecoming on October 25th, happening on top of current rehearsals in order to operate at the highest level with them. Coach Riley said that you can expect many more joint shows to come as they continue to hone and perfect their skills for their upcoming performances.

The new Performance Dance team looks forward to an exciting new year ahead of them, one filled with rehearsals, choreography and dances that they must learn, and definitely life-changing experiences. As DB Dance Co paves the way for new, talented dancers, they look towards another great year, only this time with twelve more joining their ranks as they continue to train hard, have fun, and build friendships and memories that will last them a lifetime.
