DB Football Joins New League
Following the announcement that high school sports will be delayed until January, the new schedule for Diamond Bar High School football has been released.
The Brahmas’ football team will join the Hacienda League for the upcoming season, a league that also includes Walnut, Ontario and Nogales high schools. The boys are scheduled to face Ontario on Feb. 26, Nogales on March 5 and Walnut on March 12 for the annual Branding Iron game.
Diamond Bar has had recent success against fellow league teams Walnut and Ontario, as they won 34-14 and 34-6 against them last year, respectively. They have yet to play Nogales in recent years, last playing against them in 2010.
Outside of the Hacienda League, the Brahmas will face six other teams in their non-league games. They are planning to go against Chino on Jan. 8, Covina on Jan.15, Montclair on Jan. 22, Wilson on Jan. 29, Katella on Feb. 5 and Rowland on Feb. 12. A matchup on Feb. 19 is yet to be determined.
Last school year, the Brahmas went 3-2 in the Mt. Baldy League, losing in the first round of the CIF playoffs.
