DBHS photographer to be remembered

Emily Kim, Sports Editor

Photographer Spencer Pendergrass, who worked with Diamond Bar High School since it opened in 1981, passed away in his sleep on April 21. He was 62.

Pendergrass and his company, Pacific Images, worked with DBHS for the last 34 years. The company has also worked with nearby schools including Ayala High School, Chino Hills High School and Walnut High School.

He not only took headshots of the staff and students for the yearbook, but he also attended nearly every event at DBHS, including football games and rallies. Pendergrass also designed the student ID cards for almost  every school year.

He is survived by his son Jordan, two daughters Marissa and Kate, and two grandchildren.

“He’s a part of making those memories, his pictures are everywhere. He’s a part of [DBHS],” activities director Cathy Norys said.

A memorial service will be held on May 2 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Tree Farm, 3475 Hillside  Ave., Norco.
