CIF run ends at semifinals

Three years after formation, the Diamond Bar boys water polo team CIF run ended in its semifinal match against Roosevelt High School with a score of 6-5.

The Brahmas won their first wild card match against Estancia High School 14-7 and then dominated Garden Grove High School, 17-7.

On Saturday, the team defeated Arcadia 12-9 to advance.

“Our team has really stepped up to the plate and other teams were not expecting a 3 year team to be playing at such a high level,” senior Diego Hammond said.

Hammond credits the preparation work the coaches put in before the games. Discussing the weaknesses and strengths of each team was valuable for the Brahmas before they headed into matches with schools they have never competed against before.
