Brahmas open season with loss

Coming off a 4-6 season, the Diamond Bar High School football team started its new season with 48-28 loss at  Alta Loma on Friday.

Even with the loss of 25 seniors including last year’s leading rusher and receivers, Dimaggio Rico, Kyle Yada, and Connor Donohue, the Brahmas seem to have a solid offense as senior quarterback Grant Mestas had three touchdowns and threw for 198 yards, and senior Davion Bluitt rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. Junior Shane Wells had  107 yards of receiving and two touchdowns.

With the much-anticipated  Branding Iron game set for Sept. 2 against rival Walnut, the Brahmas have a big opportunity to bounce back from their loss and gain their first win of the season.
