Brahmas carry momentum in third game

After their win against rival Walnut last week, the Brahmas kept the momentum going with a 27-7 win against Covina this Friday.

In the first quarter, junior Shane Wells scored on a pass from senior quarterback Grant Mestas. Senior JC Holmes brought the score to13-0 when he caught a pass across the middle of the field from Mestas and ran it into the end zone. After a few fumbles, penalty flags and a touchdown for Covina in the second quarter, the game entered halftime with a score of 13-7.

Senior Brendon Castaneda rushed for a touchdown in the third quarter. Although the Brahmas missed the extra point, the visitors ended the quarter 12 points ahead of the Colts with a score of 19-7.

Holmes scored the final touchdown of the night from 2 yards out, followed by a two-point conversion  by junior Matthew Emanuele.

The Brahmas will face off against the Brea Olinda Wildcats on Sept. 16.
