Diamond Bar High School volleyball team ended their season on Wednesday with a second loss against Don Lugo, 3-0. The Brahmas placed third overall with a 7-3 record in the Mt. Baldy League, having lost to Ontario earlier in the season 

Like Diamond Bar, Don Lugo came into the game with a 7-1 record after losing to Ontario as well. Both teams were fighting to claim  second place in the league.

To put the similarities of the two teams in perspective, the Conquistadors and the Brahmas were both beaten by Bonita 3-0 in a non-league game and lost against Ontario leading up to this game. 

With the Brahmas struggling to put the ball in play, Don Lugo was able to defeat Diamond Bar with a high number of aces and digs. Don Lugo’s Ellie Garcia, one of the team’s top players, was responsible for 3 aces along with 3 digs against Diamond Bar. 

Don Lugo defeated the Brahmas in all five sets, including the first set 22-17 and the last set 15-14. The Brahmas put up a fight through the first and third sets, but both teams seemed to lose grip in the fourth and fifth sets with a score of 22-21 in the fourth set. 

The fourth and fifth sets have been considered the Brahmas’ weak spots because majority of the team moved up from last year’s junior varsity, where they only play three sets, according to team members.
