DB girls golf finishes 3rd at State Championship
Sophomore Han places fourth and senior Vongsaga seventh in individuals.
The Diamond Bar Girls golf team ended their season with flying colors. On Nov. 14, the Lady Brahmas played in the CIF State High School Girls Championship held at Victoria Club in Riverside, finishing third in the team competition out of six teams. They were just six strokes behind the winning score posted by Troy High School.
Out of 52 individual who golfed, DBHS sophomore Emma Han was tied for fourth place, shooting one under par, three strokes behind the winner. Senior Kailie Vongsaga placed seventh, shooting par.
‘Placing seventh was not too bad for me and I feel like I played well throughout the whole day and I’m proud that I went out there and never gave up,” Vongsaga said.
Although the team didn’t take any wins, they accomplished their goals to participate in the state finals.
“State finals was honestly really fun and I couldn’t have been more proud of the team!” Vongsaga said, “I can’t wait to see all the amazing thing the team will do in the future.”
