Recently, Diamond Bar High School introduced a new instructional dean on campus. Pep adviser and Pathways teacher Whitney Prenger will be working alongside current deans Gabriel Aguilar and Matthew Brummett.

“In learning about education and continuing my journey as a teacher, I’ve always been inspired by powerful leaders. It has been inspiring for me to continue my journey as a leader and step up to the next opportunities that are presented to me,” Prenger said.

As an instructional dean, she will be responsible for helping the development and regulation of the student body’s policies as well as monitoring the activities of the instructional staff, according to the Walnut Valley Unified School District.

Prenger has spent 11 years as an educator. Before being hired full time at DBHS, she spent two years working at Westhoff Elementary and advising Pep part time at DBHS. She said that she is excited to work with the Walnut Valley community and looks forward to supporting the teachers and students in her new position.

“I would just continue to remind students never say no to opportunities and to do what you can to empower yourself to open more doors to have more opportunities to success,” Prenger said.
