With overflowing pressure and tension heading into Tuesday’s match against Walnut, the Lady Brahmas fell short of victory despite the hours and weeks of practice. However, the loss might have motivated DB; the Lady Brahmas displayed a fine golfing performance in Thursday’s rematch against the Mustangs, winning a close one, 203 to 199.
DB had home court advantage at Diamond Bar Golf Course in Thursday’s match. Junior sensation Bethany Wu had another excellent performance as she shot a 34 to lead the Lady Brahmas to victory. In addition, senior captain Brooke Miller scored a 42 and senior Lynn Lee a 41.
“It was a close match but we put out all our concentration and focus on the field and ended up getting the win. We were determined to defeat our rivals,” Miller said.
The Lady Brahmas are now preparing for the rigorous San Clemente Tournament, which will be held Sept. 20. DB is now 1-1 in league and is a work in progress to fulfill the rich history of DB golf.
“Our main goal is to keep winning games and stay together as a team. If we try our best and things work out the way it should, another league title and CIF championship is in our grasp,” Miller said.
