Anti-prom activities
Intro:
Don’t like the idea of spending hundreds of dollars to dress up and dance on a crowded dance floor at prom? If so, here are some alternative activities you can enjoy for the perfect anti-prom night.
Glo Mini Golf and Arcade:
Teenagers looking for friendly competition may want to pay a visit to Glo Mini Golf and Arcade, located in Riverside. You can play a game of glow-in-the-dark mini golf with your friends while taking pictures in front of their 3D, 8-feet tall mural walls, which feature the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China and the Amazon jungle. The establishment also offers a virtual reality arcade and an Xbox Gaming Cafe.
A 27-hole match is $12 per person and all other activities are offered for below $20. You can even grab a bite to eat at nearby restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, the Habit or Red Robin for a convenient meal.
Laser tag:
If you’re looking for an adrenaline-filled activity, look no further than a game of laser tag at Lost Worlds Laser Tag in the City of Industry. The 65,000-square-foot arena, the largest in Los Angeles, also offers bumper cars, bowling and arcade games. One round cost $9. After hours of laser action, you can head to the nearby Mediterranean Cafe, where you can purchase a slice of pizza for the perfect end to the night with your friends or date.
Drive in:
For a more romantic night out, lay down your blankets and pillows inside your car for the ultimate movie experience at the Vineland Drive-in located at City of Industry. The Multi Screen theater features stadium-style seating and concessions. General admission costs $10 per person, and is showing new releases “Dumbo” and “Captain Marvel.” You can also create your own snacks beforehand and eat while enjoying a movie under the stars.
Fondue:
Share this unconventional meal with your date Yojie Japanese Fondue in Diamond Bar. You can start off your meal with a choice of shabu shabu, sukiyaki or spicy miso. If you’re looking for a sweeter option, a chocolate fondue with fruit is also available.
For those on a tight budget, inviting some friends over to cook up a fondue meal together is a great alternative. Countless simple fondue recipes can be found online, and with the right ingredients, you and your friends can create a delicious experience for a night to remember.
