Meet Your Alumni

Alumni advice gets real with words from five of our alumni. Read about them below and click the link to ask questions about college life!

Justin Park
Rice University
Biological Sciences, Asian Studies
“I originally attended the University of Southern California, but transferred because I wanted to escape the comfort of home and learn in a smaller, more intimate, and academic-driven institution. I am also the Layout Designer for The Rice Thresher, a weekly student-run newspaper I am responsible for designing the front page for. My hope is to become a physician who helps the underserved Asian American population in the U.S., and each day I am getting closer to that dream through high quality education at Rice, direct exposure to all aspects of medicine from the Texas Medical Center, and warm guidance from my awesome professors.”

Claire Huang
University of Pennsylvania
Cognitive Science (I’m interested in memory loss and artificial intelligence)
“Although I am on the pre-med track, I don’t believe that my college experience should be defined by this choice. In addition to neurology, I am interested in public education and video production. I believe college truly is a period of self-discovery and am excited to have learned so much about myself. I love exploring and am slowly falling more in love with Philadelphia.”

Sarah Cho
University of Pennsylvania
English Literature, Minor: Asian American Studies
“I’m a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a DBHS 2013 alum! In my time on the Bull’s Eye, I was Feature Editor and A&E Assistant Editor. Currently, I am studying English Literature with a concentration in creative writing. I am also pursuing a minor in Asian American Studies. I love going to concerts, trying new experiences, kicking back with friends, and just having an overall good time!”

Rose Kim
UC Davis
Communications
“I am a sophomore at UC Davis. I am a Communications major intending to minor in English and Drama.”

Joy Chow
UC Berkeley
Business Administration, Political Science
“Hey everyone! I love hiking, singing in the shower, trying out new cafes, exploring hipster places in busy cities, and high-quality conversations. I’m currently a freshman at UC Berkeley studying Business Administration with a minor in Political Science and Statistics! I think it’s really important to come into college with an open mind. At first, I was tunnel-visioned on the business track, but now, as I’m being exposed to more of the culture and people at Berkeley, I find myself intrigued in a wide variety of fields.”
